Why Teach ?
Is it a family tradition ? Were you motivated by a teacher who changed your life ? Growing up I have always been surrounded by teachers in my family or people who worked in the school district. Starting with my grandparents, my grandmother was a special education teacher and my grandfather drove school buses. My mom has been an educator ever since I was born, she started off as a substitute then went on to get her teachers certification to also becoming an special education teacher. She continued to work her way up in the education world and now she is a counselor at an elementary school. And I have many cousins that are educators also. But when I got in middle school teachers would ask what did I want to do as a career when I got older. Even though I had a lot of educators in my family, teaching was not my first option.
